55+ Holiday Gift Guide
The most wonderful time of year is upon us and although we all love receiving gifts sometimes it’s hard to determine what exactly to get someone who has everything and is everything to everyone. I know I can’t be the only one who has to add to the yearly robe, slippers, and candles for my Grandmother’s and Cologne for my Grandfather. Although I know they absolutely love those things, sometimes I want to WOW them and also really make them feel as special as they make me feel on the daily basis. While creating my wishlist I had the thought to share as these gifts can be used at any time for any occasion. Let’s get into it
Shutterfly Album Printing
Shutterfly is a photography printing company that is very easy to use and gives you so many options for printing. The pictures can be taken directly from your grandparents phone or specific pictures from your album that they would enjoy as keepsakes. Shutterfly offers Christmas cards, wall art, mugs, photo books and so many other items you can personalize. The best part is they are extremely affordable, have great reviews and turnaround time.
(P.S. check out their site, they may have a holiday sale going)
2. Kitchen Gadgets and Cookware
Last year, we went to spend the day with my grandmother in Delaware and already knowing the menu we brought our air fryer. After we used it and my grandmother saw how easy it was to navigate she instantly said she wanted one! In perfect granddaughter fashion, I ordered her one and it was delivered the next day. Sometimes we don’t know what we are missing out on until we are introduced to something new. So, for those of us who have elder’s that still love to cook, this is a great time to upgrade their kitchen gadgets. Some great places to shop for affordable items are TJ Maxx, Walmart, and my favorite Amazon!
3. An Experience
Ripping the wrapping paper off gifts is exciting but sometimes creating a new memory together can be just as fulfilling. This holiday season gift your loved one tickets to a live show, a concert, a museum they would enjoy or plan a vacation to a new place. Remember the experience is what you make it so it doesn’t have it to be extravagant or an out of country trip, just well planned and personable to your loved one.
4. Create A Game
Personalize a family game or use facts about your loved ones past, personality, and memories to create a game they would enjoy playing with the family on Christmas Day. Using Etsy you can design the game and have it print and shipped straight to your door, giving them not only the memory of playing it but a physical keepsake.
5. Recreate Their Recipe Challenge
2-5 family members decide on one of your loved ones recipes and compete - who’s dish is better? - Let them be the judge
6. Self care basket
There are a few ways you could do this basket but for the purposes of giving you an idea. Choose their favorite snacks, relaxation items, cozy pjs, robe, essential oils, candles, perfume/cologne! Write them a letter and give them their flowers and also why you believe they should take some time for self care. Another option is booking them a massage & dinner reservation.
7. Car Detail
If your grandfather or uncle is anything like mine they take pride in their cars and the appearance!! Gift your loved one a car detail this year
8. gift card bouquet
This one is pretty self explanatory , choose 3-5 (however many you decide) of their favorite places and/or websites
